'70 center console glove box interior finish

I'm restoring a console for my Cutlass and as I've disassembled it I found that the two piece plastic glove box inserts and the sides of the console at the glove box area were sprayed with a texture material. Is this supposed to be flocked? Or is it just some sort of rubbery texture paint? Mine is so worn that I really can't tell, and internet searches aren't coming up with much. Is there anyone who has restored or replicated this, and what did you use? Thanks!

Yes the inside compartment is flocked. Inline sells a kit but I just looked & they're sold out of the black kit at the moment. I'm sure others have them, maybe even someplace local like Hobby Lobby???

Awesome, thank you. Mine is so worn I wasn’t sure if it was flocked or textured. I’m sure somewhere like HL or Michael’s or other similar store would have some sort of flocking spray. Thanks!

You can get flocking kits on line and in hobby stores. Here's the first vendor that came up in a Google search.

Thanks, Joe -
I looked up the products that several of those companies sell and most have the Donjer brand Suede-Tex. I found the mini-flocker applicator, flocking fiber and the adhesive/primer on Amazon. $58 shipped isn't cheap, but I will have more material than I need to do the sides of the console and the plastic inserts. I took time today to check out Michael's, Hobby Lobby, and a local hobby store - none of them carry flocking any longer, unless it's white and it's before Christmas. I'll post some pics when I get this part of the restoration done.

OK, it took two weeks to gather up the flocking, the paint/glue, and the applicator, but I'm going to get started on the flocking tonight or tomorrow. Question - is there flocking on the two plastic inserts that make up the floor of the glove box area? I can't really tell if anything was ever there. I can see where it was on the upper and lower parts of the console but these pieces show nothing obvious. Thanks!
