Where exactly were the rear speakers originally located?.....assuming there were rear speakers with the am/fm stereo option.

 

it was one speaker and it was on the passenger side under the rear package tray. from inside the trunk you can see where the holes are that it would have bolted to. the similar holes on the driver side is for the defogger blower. i have seen people put a speaker there also but that wasn't original.

 

So....there was one front and one rear speaker for the am/fm stereo radio?

 

That's right. Front speaker was left channel, rear speaker was right. Not the best setup but it worked better than you'd have thought.
