Looks like this car would be fairly well known if real. Interesting options if it presents as it was built. Special paint. AC. Sport wheel. Not right side mirror at all. No sport mirrors. Idiot lights. Standard shifter.
All that work and it has Cutlass tail light lenses. 🥴
1970 442's had five (5) special order paint colors, including Sebring Yellow, Azure Blue, Viking Blue, Gold ( I forget the exact name), plus one other color that I also forget. ( The mind is the second thing to go.....LOL)
I heard that Oldsmobile would paint your car any color, for a fee, providing that the purchaser provided the color.
I know of one 1970, 442, W-30, convertible, that was painted Plum Crazy.

nice job on expanding all the pics. i will say its unique .im sure way out of my price range .why would you opt out of sport mirrors yet pay extra for special paint? Hard telling if anything is real anymore.

Olds had so-called "special order" colors, but there were also RPO codes that allowed the buyer to get non-standard and even non-GM paint. Note RPO Y62, Y63, Y66, and Y76.
Special order paint code not withstanding, that's been restored so it would need docs to show it was that color if they want that to bring extra money. I bet it sells for less than a normal restored 442; it's pink.

If the cowl tag had the normal "- -" paint code, I would agree with you, but given that the cowl tag shows the correct 76 76 paint code, unless that's a bogus cowl tag there isn't much better proof.
I like the color because it's "unique". The tail light lenses are wrong as well as the turn signal stalk. Better pics of the engine bay would probably reveal more. Tire and wheel combo is nice. It's definitely been monkeyed with but it still is a clean, solid looking car IMHO.
Yeah, that's the problem. The car has obviously had a full "resto", so exactly what parts were added at that time? As I said, were it not for the cowl tag, I'd be the most vocal skeptic on the paint color, but I'll bet the W25 hood was added. At least they fought the urge to add incorrect W30 side stripes. Interesting that a repro Rally Pac didn't get added either. The sport wheel is pretty scummy. Might have wiped that down before taking the photos.
I don't know who took the pictures but... Terrible pictures all the way around. I like the car. I would love to see an actual build sheet to see what all it came with. Cutlass lenses always make laugh. Do some homework.
As a kid there was a factory ordered pink 70 GS 455 near us. Sat in a storage lot forever until one day it was gone. Decades ago.
Paint code appears legit. 76 is 1970 Toronado Regency Rose.
Can't say it suits the car, would look more "right" on a Supreme, but if a Mopar muscle car could wear Moulin Rouge there's no reason a 442 can't wear a more refined shade of pink.
Seems like I remember a story on this car in the past. Definitely optioned weird if it came as sits. Personally I would trade the ac for sport mirrors. I don't mind the color at all. Pink is hard to pull off but it isn't terrible. Like Joe said at least they didn't W stripe it. That and no towel rack. Oldsmobile body lines are so sexy. No W stripes and no wing really show that. I could see someone hooking up their wife with that car.
There is an *** for every seat they say..personally I like it, wouldn’t change it since its factory colored..very unique. Something different is always interesting..

Now if you have a 442 without a sport wheel, without sports mirrors, idiot lights and a standard shifter, something is wrong?? I ordered a 1970 W-30 convertible, with the standard steering wheel, "idiot lights", standard shifter, standard wheels and hubcaps. That's what I chose.

The year is 2021. Never knew that 442's bore masculine and feminine colors. This specific color, 76, is a wife's car? Azure blue must fall into the feminine gender applying this standard.

Only if you own it appearantly. You always got some stupid *** comment to anything I post. Why don't you post something worthwhile? I have Zero clue what your stalker self has an issue about with me. Whatever it is you are wrong. Take a breath Marsha.

The color on this car was also a Riviera color. Lighter shade than the GS posted.
I have always liked cars like this car posted. I love surviving cars that are one of one. Growing up in the times that I did it is unbelievable how many cars we saw just go to the junkyard etc. I watched a 68 Hemi bench seat mod top and interior Road Runner go straight to the crusher. Ugliest Road Runner ever. White car. Green Mod Top and interior. Little old lady owned. Super solid car. Never been in an accident. Engine and trans got pulled and zero else. Crusher the next Monday. No way two of those cars were made. Her husband special ordered it. Green interior like your 1968 lawn furniture. Had a Hemi. No bullshit. Column shift.

Who accent striped that thing? Stevie Wonder? Can't even get them on straight.... *sigh*
It's funny to me how many times stripes become the death of an otherwise great paint job. You see so many cars with killer paint. Stripes?... Err🤑🤥
So elementary but it is a lost art in today's world.
One thing that I do like about this car is that it isn't overdone. Not many of us would rebuild a car like that and not put sport mirrors on it. Best sideview mirrors Ever on a musclecar. One year only. Standard shifter. Idiot lights.
Can you guys that are guru's tell if that hood is factory? I agree that that car could have come with a steel hood.

The one year only thing might be why the restorer didn't put them on. May not have been able to find any at the time.
My guess is original buyer wanted something distinctive and got it with the color. Can't fathom a dealer ordering a 442 in this color for stock so I'm bound to think it was a customer order, though it might have been a showroom traffic builder.

I had a Light Briar Brown Metallic 1984 TransAM which I ordered. Car was stunning in that color, just the damn paint didn't hold up. At the end of the first year it was riddled with blotches that wouldn't polish out. Traded it for a white 1985.
One of the knuckleheads I worked with was tritanopic color blind and kept calling it lavender purple. I showed him a picture of an Iris Mist (lavender purple) 65 GTO and he swore it was silver.
At least he could tell the difference in red and green indicator lights or there's no telling what he'd have tore up. Color blind on top of not being the sharpest tool in the shed could have been disastrous for him and his co-workers.

I am guessing that it was ordered that color intentionally by someone personally. If you had the bank and wanted your lady to roll with horsepower why not? Oh sorry Marsha. Seems like the paint color and ac was all they were worried about. Tagged on the firewall is hard to dispute. Would love to see pictures of that new. Forced Air hood or not.
Hard to buy a car and not check it out in person. Hopefully the buyer got what they wanted. In today's market sounds like a solid deal. I would cruise it. I like it. I like the colors. I like that it wasn't over restored.

Good color car to "hook up your wife." No "gurus confirmed the hood is factory, no build sheet, idiot lights, standard shifter, and Cutlass tail lights!!"
Federal informants don't flip as quickly....

Dude you are seriously a whack job. Out of this entire thread you still want to **** on my screen door. I am here to talk cars and learn. Your weirdness with me? PM me. I don't get your issues with me at all. I am a good dude. I bet you are too... Seriously for the tenth time. Shoot me a PM. You look foolish Marsha.
Cool car, $40k is probably right for that. This same car went through BJ a few years back for around the same price. I'd love to have that 442 in my collection--great color!
