69 HO sold Hemmings

Just saw a 69 HO sold on Hemmings for 57,000 , non original block but all components correct. Thought that was a decent deal. I never have figured out how to attach a link to this Hemmings sale. Someone enlighten me please.
Long time owner passed, his wife sold the car.

I don't think it's you, bud, I think they took the listing down once sold.

Hemmings has a "Sold" section. Sold - 1969 Oldsmobile Hurst - Hemmings.com

Seems to me that 60k is the price for a nice, iconic Musclecar. Been looking at CobraJet Torinos. They are all about 60k for a nice one. I was told a few years ago to get into a Boss 429. That wasn't the best advice as they have not appreciated much.

I passed on a perfect 69 H/O in the 1990s. It was in the 20s as far as price. I thought that was too much. Same for a 69 Z/28. Same price, I passed. Oh well.

$21k is about $51k today in terms of inflation, so that follows.

It is sad to think that most of your raises at your career are eaten by inflation.

I think this chart was the most interesting part of that listing. I'm also very skeptical. If you go to the live version of the chart in the Hemmings link posted above, you can mouse over each of the points and get more info. Both of those high points in 2022 appear to be the same car, both for exactly the same $247,500. One is Kissimmee in January and the other is Sotheby's in March. Sounds suspicious to me.

Non original block? Maybe I was seeing things, but from what I read it was simply rebuilt...

The owner has had this car for 30 years. I don’t think its the one JP is thinking of. Widow selling as he passed. Very upfront on mostly original , not specific as to what? but everything else on engine correct. Looks like one repaint.
