'69 Cutlass Help Please

I was wondering if any one knows if the trunk trim with Oldsmobile in it is standard equipment on a Cutlass or not. I've never seen a 442 with one. The reason I ask is I'm not sure if my car should have it or not. It currently does not, but as it is being stripped for a repaint we found out it is not the original trunk lid so maybe it came from a F-85. Does any one know? Does anyone know what trim piece I am talking about? Thanks for you help.

If you are talking about the stainless strip that runs along the back, bottom edge of the trunk lid, my '69 4-4-2 convertible has it. They are hard pieces to find if you are looking for one. Mine also has a small dent in it that if virtually impossible to remove so, after looking for a replacement and not finding any, I've decided to use my original.

I'm not sure if it stainless or not. I know it goes the whole way across the trunk lid and around the lock hole. Does this help? I don't have any pictures of one to attach.

Just found this picture on the net. Here you can see the piece I am talking about. Is it standard on a Cutlass and not standard on a F-85? Anyone know?

It was on my Cutlass pictured here in red by my Name. I bought it off the original owner so it came on this one. This car had allot of options though(Air.disc Brakes etc). I wish you had posted this earlier, I just took mine off and sold it just a few weeks ago cheap I think for its mint condition. I actually think it looks better without it but thats me. There is also another thin piece that goes on the bottom of the trunk edge.To be Honest you can go with or without either. Just to let you know Mine sold for $125.00. I have no idea if thats cheap or not. I started the Auction at .99 cents. Good Luck.

The piece on the black Cutlass pictured is correct for Cutlass.
Not sure about F-85.
The thin stainless trim piece on the bottom edge of the deck lid is 4-4-2 only.

So the verdict is that it is standard on Cutlass. At least that is what I am interpreting here. The only reason I asked about F-85 is my trunk lid has been changed and I wonder why it didn't have the piece and my conclusion was maybe the trunk lid came off a F-85. I might leave it off if I can't find one. Thanks for the help guys. If anyone else has any thoughts on this let me know.

I looked for pictures of a 69 f-85 rear view and could only find one. It does not have any trim on the trunk lid. www.cotopaxi.olx.com. Every Cutlass S I've seen has the trim pictured on the black Cutlass above. The 4-4-2 has the very thin stainless trim. I use to have one.
