Can anybody provide information as to the "K34" in block 14 and the 736 of my 69 broadcast card?

Consulting a list of GM option codes, K34 comes up as cruise control.

I don't know what list you're looking at, but in 1969, RPO K30 was cruise control for Oldsmobile.

So I just checked my '69 card. I have K83 in block 14 and 424 in block 15. This happens to correspond to the Dealer Order Number for my car which is K83424. So, my guess is your Dealer Order Number was K34736.

www.rpocodes.com under GM codes.

K30 comes up as "Cruise Control, automatic," whereas K34 is "Cruise Control, automatic, electronic."

Again, not in the 1969 model year at Oldsmobile. Most of those on-line RPO lists are Chevy-centric and mostly from the 1980s-onward.

You may be right. Both of my trim cards show 145 in box 14 and 094 in box 15. Where did you find your Dealer Order Number?

I read it on this forum somewhere a while back. It is also explained in a breakdown of the Broadcast Card fields on the 1969 Hurst Olds web page.

It is so wonderful that we are able to parse through all of this cool stuff here!!

I concur with @69 Hurst . My broadcast card:

btw you can now likely decode my username now! Anyway, Ident. No group seems to indicate a connection to the order number. The order number and dealer code and other wonderful tidbits can be cross checked with build sheets, vins, tags, etc.

my build sheet cross check:

K43 from 14 and 727 from 15 match my order number from build sheet.

Good stuff.

Such cool info when you find the paperwork! Confirm more of the timeline, option packages, and the all important cross check of information.... you have VIN on some, body number on others, dealer codes, order numbers, options code confirmation... so much fun. Confirmed bucket seats, rear seat speaker codes, and body number as well as paint codes. Awesome that it documents with all of this cross checking that it is an actual 442 by vin on build sheet and that it has a cutlass body code via broadcast card (for all those folks still out there)... and provides that body number! Have had a story in my head and it is so nice to confirm it all one number at a time!

I did the same and looked at RPO codes and quickly realized the box "Ident No" with option codes in the above boxes. I dont have any other docs to compare like 69 hurst dealer invoice. Good to see a doc we can x reference. Thanks for the input, it can be fun hunting numbers!
