69 442 poverty cap's ??

I have a 69 442 4sd post bench.
I was looking at the original order codes for the car.
The RPO code for the wheels was N81
Tire package F70 X 14 Red Stripe 14 X 6 JK Wheels
There is no other options for wheels or hub caps listed.
Did the car come with poverty caps?

Thanks
Bernhard

Okay I'm officially shocked, 90 views and no answer. If the classic Olds forum does not have the answer no one has.

I believe N81is for tire option which is F70 x 14 red stripe tires. It may have been on a 14 x 6" JK wheel, but I think those could have come with a hub cap not just a poverty cap. IIRC XT was a 70 poverty cap rim.

N81 = wide oval tire, part number 403397, code LR - which is for steel rim for disc brake car

Sorry I don't have a definitive answer it maybe what i do remember may help someone else hone in on the correct answer or straighten mine out.

not sure what you are looking at - specific info on your car or general info on 1969 442s, but .....

N81 was an OPTIONAL wheel/tire upgrade for Cutlass & the standard wheel/tire combo for 442

F70-14 "red stripe" polyester cord tires on 14x6.0" JJ steel wheels with "poverty" hub-caps

hub-caps were STANDARD, they covered the hub of the wheel

wheel covers were OPTIONAL, they covered the wheel

Do you have the build sheet for your car or are you looking at the option codes that were available in 1969? If you have the build sheet for your car, post a picture of it and it will tell the story. If you are just looking at the option codes for 1969, there's no telling what wheel/wheel cover/hub cap came with the car.

Redlines were standard issue on '69 4-4-2s. They could have come with the poverty hub caps (no option code), wheel covers (PO1), deluxe wheel covers (PO2), Super Stock I wheels (PO5 - LE wheel code fit drum brakes, late production LY wheel code for disc or drum brakes), or Super Stock II wheels (N66 - LR wheel code fit both disc and drum brakes).

Randy C.

Edit: I believe people were hesitant to answer because there didn't appear to be enough information to provide any accuracy.

I have the original build sheet and GM of Canada document.
I have not mastered posting pictures yet sorry.

The reason for the question.
I was just wondering how the car came from the factory.

There is no PO wheel code listed on the build sheet or GM document.
The build sheet and GM document are a 100% match.

Thanks for all the reply's

Bernhard
