Hi. I just purchased a 68 cutlass supreme. The only interior lights I see are on the rear sail panels. Are there supposed to be any under the dash area or in the headliner? Thanks for any help
Yes, I believe all cars got the forward kick panel lights.
In my 68 442 Holiday, I have a footwell light on each side up front next to the kick panels inserted through the metal dash. (Look for a socket and a hole), a map light over the radio (optional), and a central dome light in the center of the roof, standard on the 442. It also has an ashtray, glove box, engine bay, and trunk light. I have an auto console so there's a light on front n rear of that.
The Cutlass Supreme pictured here has the rectangular sail panel lights. Not sure if it was standard on the C or the CS or had to be ordered within a lighting/interior group? If it got the sail panel lights did that cancel out the center roof dope light? I think so by looking at this 68 CS.
Note the optional shoulder straps and lack of a map light, defogger, or power antenna switches above the radio. Despite the obvious added electrical heat element style defogger in the rear glass in the last pic.

The only standard lamps were the rear quarter roof lamps as well as the ash tray lamp. Courtesy lamps, map lamp, glove box lamp, under hood lamp and trunk lamps were extra cost options… see pic… hope this helps, Dave
