There's not a lot of info to be had there
04D = built the 4th "week" of April of some year.
68 is obvious
35667 says it's a Delta Convertible, which you probably knew already
361441 is your body number, means little or nothing nowadays.

[missed xxx442 by that much >< ]

S 2 = Jade Gold with a Gold convertible top. TR 320 I believe is a black interior, but I am not 100% sure as I am referencing A body info, not C body, and the codes are different.

I can help you with where to look. You're in luck. Wild About Cars not only has the Chassis Service Manual for you:

they also have something you won't find anywhere else, the '68 Assembly Manual for B/C bodies!

http://wildaboutcarsonline.com/cgi-b...aldisplayed=50

Look around while you're there, you'll find even more for your big Olds!

Wild About Cars. http://wildaboutcars.com. An information supersource, especially Oldsmobile. More Olds content than anywhere else on the internet and continuing to grow.
You'll find Chassis Service Manuals, Product Information Manuals (AKA Assembly Manuals), Inspector's Manuals, and other documents that will contain this and much much more.
Dealer Brochures, magazine ads and articles, and the Automotive History Preservation Society library growing daily.

Actually, the 35667 indicates a Delmont 88 convertible with a 455 engine.

A 350 powered Delmont 'vert would be 35467.

Touche'
The difference between Delmont and Delta is generally lost on me.
It's a big car, but not 98 or Toro.

That's what the manuals are for.
My heart just wasn't in it.

Cutlass/Malibu/Tempest/Skylark, are "A" body cars, Delta's, LeSabre/ Impala/Catalina, are "B" bodies, 98/Electra/Grand Prix (through '68) are "C" bodies, Toronado/Eldorado/Riviera are "E" body.

I understand, Chris.
But these boats are near & dear to me. I'm oddly facsinated by the trouble Olds went to in producing models which appear similar but have many subtle differences. Hardly lean, mean manufacturing like today's automakers.

I like my car lol... it looks like a muscle car to me and it sounds like one..
would it be a muscle car to you seasoned vets..maybe or maybe not..
but to me this car moves.. its fast off the line..mine pushes you back into the seat..

only issues i think i have are these..

1. when i get on it .. it doesnt sound like all 4 barrels are opening but with that said the car still moves damn good..

and

2. lately it seems that i had to replace this by pass hose for the water pump.. and it seems like i now need to replace the thermostat.. but im confused.. whats the point of the bypass hose then?

Since its a factory 455 car like the trim tag specifies- then it had a TH400 in it.

Positraction is something that is in teh rear axle of the car not the transmission. YOu find out by romping on the gas from a dead stop and then looking behind your to see if you have two black marks on the pavement, or just one.

I had a '68 Delmont 88 convertible with a 455 a few years back... Its the one that got away. Wish i could find it again. Enjoy yours!
