68 Cutlass S Convertible Hood Hinges

What is different between the 67 and 68 and 69 hood hinges? Nobody seems to carry the 68, only 64-67 or 69-72.

Can the 67 or 69 be used?? Also if either the 67 or 69 opened further, that would be excellent.

Today i went to close the hood and one of the pivot links snapped. So now I cannot open and close the hood.

any help would be appreciated.

68 only and there are two styles, two bolts on the hood side (early) and three bolts on the hood (later). I think 70 Toronado works and allows the hood to open more as well.

Henry posted this a long time ago. He's probably using the Hollander interchange as a reference

68 Cutlass does not interchange with any other year Cutlass or any other GM A body car. Note the 68 uses 3 bolts to attach hinge to hood. 2 bolts attach hinge to fender.

Interchange '68 Cutlass, '68 Olds 88, '68 Olds 98.

So 88 & 98 hinges should work too. It's possible that the springs are different.

Joe P posted about the 70 Toro hinges a while ago. I haven't tried them

Digging online. Ecklers.com shows 68 hinges with springs.

Anyone dealt with Ecklers before??

Dont try to order these from Ecklers. They are the WRONG hinges. When they arrived they looked good but the mounting holes are wrong.
Looking further at the packaging, they came from Classic Headquarters and their labels say they are for 70-72 Chevelle.

Thanks for the info, I was debating whether to restore my originals or order the Ecklers. Guess I'm going with the restoration option.
