Wanted: '68 Hood Hinges and '68 Front Bumper, N FL

Hello,

I am piecing my '69 442 back together with a '68 front end. I need hood hinges and a front bumper, ~driver quality.

I always like trading, and I have lots of parts for 68-72 Cutlass.

Hinges

You may want to keep and install your '69 hinges on the '68 fenders - takes a little work, I hear, but possible. The '68 hinges don't open up as much as the '69s. Someone here may have done this change and be willing to talk about it.

Thanks, Back. I don't have any hinges, and I'm using a '68 hood.

I've tried it and it's not a simple swap, even if you've got 69 fenders. The hood bolt hole spacing on the 69 hinges is not the same as the 68 hood. You end up having to elongate the 69 hood hinge bolt holes just to get the hood to bolt up and then a significant amount more if you want any front/back adjustment.

I scrapped the 69 hinges and used the 68's.

I don't have the parts you need but it sounds to me like you are putting together my most favorite late '60s A-body. I always liked the front of a '68 better than the '69 and I always liked the back of a '69 much better than a '68. Are you going with wind wing doors or the solid glass piece?

Hi Randy, I really like how it's coming together. The '69 doors are in pretty good shape, so I'll probably leave them on -- but I do have a pair of '68 doors with the vent windows if I change my mind later.

Hi folks, still looking. See my build thread here: https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums...uck-build.html.

The car is rough, and I can't spend big bucks on the hinges or the bumper. I always like trading -- what parts do you need?

Steve, I have a set of nice 68 hinges ... 100.00 plus shipping; sorry don't need anything to trade unless you have a drivers side 70 only fender in good shape.

Thanks, Luna - I'll take them, I'll send a PM. I do have a '70-only driver's fender, repairable/not ready to use - typical rust at heel.

Steve,

I'm embarrassed to even offer this but since I'm only asking $25 for it here goes. It’s straight but rough, scratched on the side and surface rust on the top (not shown in the photo):
