68 442 grilles now affordable?

Why are repro '68 grilles suddenly so affordable, and not $450...???

??? This is a problem???? Probably because that's all they're really worth and not OEM. Not as hard to make a mold for those.
You can pay 450 if you want to.

About time. Think how many
more they might sell if they
offered free ship. Still...not bad.

68 442 NOS grills used to sell for $200 five or more years ago. They were still available from the dealers about 15 or so years ago and that was right around the price. In the last three years they've been creeping toward $350, I think because the NOS stuff was running out. Lately they seem to be repro ones that are bringing the price back down again.

Ordered mine from the dealer 20 or so years ago, they were about $80 then.

I think once the initial pent up demand is satisfied sales slow down so they tend to cut pricing to sell a few more.

When I got my '68 way back in oh 1985 or so, it had a broken repaired grille. Though my experience at the dealer had typically been "oh, no, that's not listed anymore..." I decided to try. Still available. Hella expensive at $54. Bought it anyway.

Should have bought them all.

Just like when I saw '67 W30 air cleaners listed at University Olds for the extremely high price of $250 each.
