68 442 Centerlink part number

Would anybody know the original part number. I have looked in everything I have and cannot come up with it.

TIA.

I'm a little slow on the uptake for your question. What is a "centerlink"?

Hey Randy,

The steering center link, connects the all the front steering componets.

This is probably what you already know but I thought I would post it anyway. From what I see in manual section 3 page 110 of the assembly manual, it appears the entire steering linkage assembly came under one stock number, be it power steering or manual steering, and be it either US or Canadian. I'm wondering of there is a book somewhere that would break down the assembly part number to individual part numbers for each piece.

I see the piece you want the part number for on that page in the assembly manual, but it looks like they just assembled all the steering linkage into one part number.

PS: Thanks for the heads-up. A lot of times, I'm mechanically reclined!

Ok, it's not listed as center link or drag link even though that's what most of us call them.
To find this you have to look up Group 6.870. Description - Rod, Steering Relay Rod 68-72 f85 Part number 7800896

I checked 2 different GM Parts catalogues and the part number/group stays consistent. Only the price changed (so what's new?)

I looked at that AD Delco unit and noted it doesn't have the rubber grease boots - just the chintzy foam rubber washers. I really hate it when they cheap out like that. Makes me wonder what else was shortcutted.
