68 400 paint

So the engine color for the 400 is bronze. I started cleaning my engine and noticed 2 different colors on it. A light bronze and a dark bronze underneath
Which would be the correct color?

66SportCoupe is correct. Interesting, Mr.Smooth, I had the same experience with my '68 400CID. But mine was opposite of yours: Good/Dark Bronze on the upper portion of the block, heads, intake, etc., But the lower part of the block and oil pan were all light bronze, almost gold.

The color on top of yours looks closer to the earlier 400 and the color underneath looks closer to the later (68-69) 400G but colors of all the years seem to vary a bit

This is Fusick on my 68
