67 W30 air cleaner

There is a gentleman that is mostly a Corvette guy on the hunt for a 67 W30 air cleaner. As rare as these are that will be hard to locate. Some of you may know where one is. I recommend not telling him. He plans to take and cut the bottom out and make if fit over dual quads. He is putting it on a 67 but destroying a very rare part. he is in the New Hampshire area and his first name is Pete.

Save the important parts for the true rare cars. PLEASE?

He would have to have a lot of money to trash a $4000+ air cleaner.

Seems like I'll find a couple of them every year being offered on ebay. A lot of them have cobbled bases for using non Quadrjets.

There was a local man that worked for Glasstron (boat manufacturer)in their R and D department that played with Olds power in some of their boats and justified the use of a tri-carb test engine with the ram air cleaner. I last saw it on a 74 Chev pickup he owned with a 455 engine. Lost track of it about 5 years ago.

If this person has the expertise to modify an original '67 air cleaner to fit dual quads.....there must be many other aftermarket dual snorkel air cleaners that could be modified to do the same thing .......but, if I had one, I would probably sell it to him for $4000. anyway!

Whatever car he is putting this on is NOT going to be original, anyway.....!

Guy in my opinion is an idiot and I doubt he could get it to work as the housing is just not big enough to cover 2 4bbl carb. The base is not like a typical 4bbl air cleaner as the snorkles are part of the base not the lid.

I doubt he could fit dual quads underneath and still get an air filter in there. Regardless, he deserves the Forrest Gump award.

If you find one, please don't let him know where it's at.
