67 Rear brakes

Anybody know if the backing plate from the wide brake shoe (from a 442 or Vista) will fit the Olds 10 bolt rear. Want to change from the narrow shoe to the wider shoe for better braking. I have drums but they do not fit the backing plate currently on the rear end. OR... is the axle longer?

The VC brakes SHOULD fit if you swap the drums and backing plates as a set. I'll suggest an alternative, however. Get the 11" drums and backing plates from a 73-77 A-body.

I have the drums and shoes for the VC set, just need the backing plates. Are the 73-77 a bolt on?
