Is anyone on this sight able to tell me what kind of replacement aluminum intake will fit my 67 Olds 442? I have been told that the manifolds currently available on the market are too tall and won't allow enough room for an air cleaner under the hood without hood mods. or milling the intake shorter where the carb mounts. Any suggestions would be welcome. The original intake weighs half as much as the whole car. I would also like to keep my quadrajet. Thanks guys

 

Edelbrock 2151 Performer series, you'll have to convert your choke to electric.

 

Thanks for the quick reply, do you know of someone who has installed this on a 66 or 67 442? I was told that there is not enough hood clearance to accept an air cleaner due to the height of the carb on these manifolds.

 

The Edelbrock site lists the additional height.

To be sure it fits, use a ball of clay on the original set up...close the hood and see how clearance you have.

The other option is a drop base air cleaner.

 

I have the 2151 on my 67 442 / holley carb/ open element air cleaner/ etc.and no issues
