67 442 Fuel Line
Did the factory aluminum fuel line have a break in it between the fuel pump and the carburetor - bridged with a piece of rubber fuel line - about three inches from where it bends to go in the carburetor?
I had a near disaster a couple of days ago when this old rotted piece of rubber fuel line split. I immediantly replaced it. Later i had the opportunity to look at another 67 442 and the aluminum fuel line was solid with no break between the fuel pump and carburetor.

The fuel line is steel, originally one piece from the pump to carb. Someone at one time decided to cut the line and install an inline fuel filter. Then at some point removed the filter and placed a solid rubber line in its place.

You don't need to change the whole fuel line unless you just want to. You can flare the line where it is cut and add a repair line to the existing. Also rubber lines that are of the correct hose take a long time to go bad. I have had a rubber line on my race car for 15 years with no leaks.
