66 Cutlass throttle assembly

I have a 1966 Cutlass convertible with a throttle cable not the rod and linkage assembly I've seen on other 66's. Did they come both ways or is this the previous owner hacking it? If it is hacked does anyone have a correct throttle for sale?

Thanks,
George

6 cylinder cars came eqipped with a cable. V8 cars have rad linkage assembly that differed between manual transmissions and automatic transmissions.

My car has a 330CI engine in it now. So either it was a 6 cylinder originally or the linkage was removed?

I have the intricate gas linkage on my 442, compared to the simple rod I have on my 66 ss396 it is space shuttle engineering

Here's the thing. I'm replacing the 330 with a 455 and a Tri-Carb set up. Is it even worth it to get that linkage or should I fabricate a cable assembly? I'm not a purist (/duck) but I would like it to look nice and be functional. Right now I have the Lokar throttle bracket assembly on it and the BG Six-Shooter with three Demons ( I know I'm gonna catch flak with you purists out there)

There were 2 types of assemblys. A stick car did not have the switch on it. I believe the factory setup will work with the 330 or 455 with tripower. The actuator rod length may be the only difference.

Thanks for the info Oldmaniac. I'd be interested in that linkage if you find it.
