66 cutlass frame

66 cutlass frame

is a 66 cutlass 4 door frame same size interchangeable with a a 2 door frame thanks for any info

This has come up before and I'm 99% sure that the 2 door and 4 door frames interchange in 1966. I've tried the search option and struck out as I know there's an old thread where Joe P. lists the frame interchanges and what the lengths of each is.

yes they interchange, both are 115" wheelbase. There are two suppliers, Pontiac and A.O. Smith. Only Smith frames have the two mounting points for the upper rear control arms, and afaik all manual trans frames with the welded Z bar bracket were Smiths.

It wasn't until 1968 that Olds started using a different length frame for the 4 door A-body cars.

This frame will also fit a flat roof wagon but will not fit a Vista Cruiser.
