66/67 Tachometer Option

I just finished up a 67 442 restoration and had an idea to add an in Dash Tachometer. This is a 2 5/8 inch face that after a few hours of surgical cutting ,fit nicely into the Dash.I plan on adding this as an option to my Instrument Panel Restorations. What I like is the face is very similar to the Speedo Head. Not exactly a Rallye Pack, but not exactly that kind of money either.

I'm gonna 1 up you ron... Check out mine:

Its a different model tach by autometer that fit in the hole with no modifications at all, simply pushed it in place (I did make a retainer for the backside though)

Another member had done the same thing before me and gave me the PN (i'd have to search to find it).

One of the easiest & Best mods I've done.

I also took the center chrome peice from a junk extra speedometer i had, removed the needle and filled the inside with JB weld, then epoxied it to the glass face of the tach. At a glance it looks stock!

You will have to get me that pn when you get a chance, I realy like the way you made that work. Looks like thats where it should have been from the beggining.

Both look great! Also have an autometer tach in the dash of my 69 cutlass but much easier swap with the blank clockface, just wish the backlight looked more like the stock dash lights. Understand idiot lights for Gen & Oil, but always baffled me why so few old cars have a tach or even a temp guage.
