64 Cutlass frame swap

Can anyone tell me what years can interchange the frame on my 64 Cutlass. Will a 4 door 67 cutlass frame be the same? Will some thing before 73 match? Thanx for ur help.

No, depends. I'm pretty sure you'll need a 64/65 Olds frame. Iirc it's either a Buick or Pontiac of the same year that interchanges.

Generally speaking, 2dr and 4dr models have a different wheelbase therefore different frames. Nothing a torch and welder can't fix, but the less work the better, right?

Check with 2blue442 I am sure he could measure some frames might even have one but I thought 64/65 had same frames between two and four doors

Edit: look on bro442 under frames the measurements are there it says 64/65 except vista cruiser

64-65 cutlass 2dr and 4dr are the same. 66/67 will not work. 65/66 buick skylark will work. Pontiac and Chev will not work.

Good info, I was under the impression that the Poncho frame was configured differently forward of the front crossmember, were any mods required for the bumper brackets, etc. to bolt up?

Actually, only for the 1968-77 model years. The 64-67 cars all used a 115" wheel base (except the VC and Buick SportWagon). The 1978-88 cars all used a 108" wheel base (except the ElCo).

No issues front to back, bumper brackets, lower motor mounts, and my 64 cross member all worked perfectly. I was suprised how easy it was to swap.

Good to know. I thought the Pontiac frame was shorter at the back end.

Have a 64 cutlass frame here about 5 hours Northwest of you.
