62 Starfire 394 c.i. Harmonic Balancer
Have a friend in need of a harmonic balancer for his 1962 Starfire 394 c.i. engine.
Any leads?
Anyone have their's rebuilt? Recommendations on rebuilding services?
Do the harmonic balancers on 1959 through 1964 394 engines interchange?

I had mine done by the Damper Doctor ; https://www.damperdoctor.com/
Nice job and prompt service .
1962 dampers are all by themselves . 1961 is different , and so is 1963 , according to the parts book .

I have a 62 Harmonic Balancer in good condition. How many belt grooves do you require. I think mine has 3 but would need to check. its in a storage unit that I would have to visit if you are interested. I would sell and ship for $100 in USA. I also have a complete low mileage original 62Jetfire engine with accessories and exhaust.

I just checked some notes. Looks like I have both 2 and 3 groove balancers for a 62 Starfire. The complete engine I have is a Starfire 345 hp not a Jetfire with 64K mi

Well, I learned a bit in this exercise.
1962 394 c.i. V8 harmonic balancers are "a beast unto themselves" in that they do not interchange with any other year.
I learned core deposits are a bit expensive, averaging $100, but understandable.
I learned Grp/Part #'s .069/583481 (w/o air, 2-groove) and 583482 (w/air, 3-groove).
My friend ended up doing business with:
