Can you spray paint the grille to make it look better.

 

There are folks that powder coat chrome bumpers and grills. The problem you are going to run into is getting paint to adhere to the chrome. You might also consider wrapping the chrome grill. You can get wrapping film and powder for coating in plenty of colors close to chrome/steel.
