54 Super 88 power steering question

I guess I didn't take enough pictures as I dismantled things. There is a guide bracket that the PS hoses run through on the driver side of the engine. I don't recall where that bracket bolts on. Can anyone shed some light?

Many thanks!

I have this photo, of the entire system removed from a '55 S-88...steering box to pump removed as an assembly - don't see / recall this bracket. However, I'll look tonight at my other PS car ans see what I can see..

I still haven't figured out where this bracket attaches. (see arrow) It's possible the bracket is slid on the hoses in the wrong direction. If you have a 54 with power steering, please take a look (and maybe a picture or two) and let me know where it attaches.

Thanks!

There is a special head bolt with a threaded hole to accept a ±1/2" hex bolt, attaching bracket to head bolt which apparently is missing. Should be in position noted by my orange arrow in your pic:

Aaaah! I wondered if maybe that was the case. My engine builder must not have put that specialized bolt back in. It may be in with all the spare parts. (We made one engine out of two) The next question would be is it safe to replace that single bolt without causing other problems?

Is that a 53 engine you have pictured?

Thanks for the info!

Pic is of a 1952. Some risk associated with changing out a head bolt but I never had trouble after doing only on stock engines. CW
