455 head stud for heat shroud

455 head stud for heat shroud

1970 442, looking for the correct head stud {pass side} that holds the cold weather heat shroud in place. are they all the same on 455 bbo? thanks AGAIN for any help guys!

The small heat shroud which attached to the center head stud on the right-side head was only used on A-bodies, not 88s, 98s, or Toros. For that reason, the stud was only installed on the A-body engines. The other 455s got a regular head bolt in that position.

However, that head stud is identical to those located one position forward on both the right and left heads. So it shouldn't be that hard to find one. for what it's worth, the stud's part number is 383038.

thats very interesting. what was the purpose of the other special studs?

The other two studs are used to mount the alternator and A/C compressor brackets.
