45 degrees out and starts and run great.

Cold morning took a short ride.it will be soon time to put it up for the winter.I still in aw how well my car runs. 455 ,230@50 camshaft.with a 800 quadrajet that I spent a whole bunch of my time tuneing it.it was really cold today ,pump the peddle once crank over a few spins and it sprung to life.idleing strong within a few minutes tap the throttle it came off high idle and was just purring like always.put it in gear and I was off without a stumble or hestation. People who never drove the low end power of a 455 are missing out. I love it when I am running down the road @ 30 to 35 and punch it and the rear radial are just screaming it put a smile on my face every time.

Good to see and hear the excitement our cars bring us grampy, I hope to put a 455 in my 76 one day, I have been debating for a few months now, I may pull the trigger and shell out the $$$ over the winter. I just have too many toys to distribute a little here and there.
Keep smiling!!!
Cheers
Eric

No one ever said a properly tuned engine won't run even at sub 0 temps. These cars have been driven in all kinds of inclement weather over the years. A lot of us use these car as daily drivers through out the year with no real issues at all. The south has unique weather, it can 30 degrees in the morning and 70 in the afternoon in winter.

I agree, there is nothing like a spur of the moment trip to lift the weight of the world off your shoulders to just listen to the music our old cars play.

These weren't just built for mild temps. They run just fine even below 0. Used to do it all the time in the day. Engine temp is engine temp no matter the weather. Glad that you had a good time.

Coldest day I drove my '68 88 years ago was -25°F (-32°C). Started right up and ran great for a 2-hour trip.
Only problem was all the damned ice that forming on the insides of the windows.
