442 Side Stripe

Did these stripes on the hood and side of the car come as vinyl decals or painted on originally? Thank you in advance.

Mine are paint - pretty sure all of them are. When I repainted the car back in the 80's I found a sign painter to put them back on by hand

Those hood stripes are not factory, were custom added by the owner.

The fat stripes similar to what the picture you posted was painted. I also think the w29 stripes were tape.

The ones on the picture you post are not factory. They are similar to the ones on a car that came with a ram air hood. but not correct

First of all, NONE of the stripes on that car in the first post are factory stripes. The wide side stripes were ONLY used on W-30 cars in that model year. The wide hood stripes were only used on the W-25 fiberglass hood. In both cases, the factory stripes were painted on. The only stripe decals that Olds ever used on the 1968-72 cars were the Rally 350 stripes and the 1972 H/O stripes.
