442 notched valve cover question

I thought all 69 442 valve covers were notched. Were there any exeption?

All valve covers were notched from 68 - 72. 67 had a notch only on the driver's side cover.

Not just 442s. All big block A-body cars including Vista Cruisers.

I presume there was enough room in the B and C and E engine compartments to avoid this practice?

I got the hoboken hustle. I bought a pair of 69 442 valve covers from a guy in the CO family for a 69 442. He sent a pair without notches and said they were standard on a 442. $120 out the window. Didn't think a guy would do that in this group.

Did you try and contact him to see if he could make good on the deal?

Did you leave negative feed back, Its a necessary part of making the sales section successful

I did question the transaction and the seller said the notched valve covers would be more expensive and dismissed my concerns. After a couple days he has now said I could send them back, but he didn't say he would refund me. Yes it sounds weird but I am waiting for a confirmation. I will have thrown away $45 on shipping fees. Right now at least I still have a $20 pair of valve covers.
