4 speed Saginaw

I just found a 4 speed Saginaw I didn't know I had. Can any body tell me how to find out what year it is or what it came out of?

I think the first Saginaws came out in the 67 Camaro. It could be any year since then. Are there any casting numbers or stampings on the case? The Chevy sites can decipher the codes. If it has three rings on the input shaft, low gear is in the mid 3:00 ratio range. About ten feet and low is used up.

Which chevy sites are you talking about ?I couldn't find anything, other than the three groove thing you mentioned.I was going to use it in my son's race car which is running on a very small dirt track. So it would be perfect.I would just like to know what it came out of cause I have no idea where it came from.It has an ITM shifter with 6or8 welds in the linkage "poor welds".I will admit the welding looks like mine but sense I can't remember doing it I'm not claiming it . There's no bushing in the linkage a couple of them don't have clips but hey wire and when I say hey wire I mean actual hey wire. And the bell housing has no site hole in the bottom.
