350 diesel block sources

Does anyone have a list of cars that were sources for the 350D and 350DX blocks?

Probably not. Generally, late 70's GM big cars and light trucks.

Use the VIN engine character.

1978-1985 pretty much all gm cars "could" come with a diesel.chevy impala/caprice,malibu.buick lesabre/electra regal and riviera.olds 88/98/cutlass and toro.pontiac catalina/bonneville.grand prix.cadillac deville/fleetwood.seville and el dorado.also chevy and gmc pickups.i have worked on all these models with a 5.7 diesel. usually the d blocks will be in the 78-80 cars, but more then likely they have been replaced with a dx.and if you interested in the 4.3 they came in the g body cars and the fwd cars buick century, chevy celebrity pontiac bonneville, olds 98 caddy fleetwood.but the rwd and fwd blocks are different.

Also Chevy/GMC full size pickups from that period. Don't expect to find many of these still around, however. It was common to replace the diesel motor with a gas engine at the first sign of problems.

i've read about the multitude of errors that they were as diesel engines so i can see why they would be harder to locate, especially the D blocks.
