350 to 455 brackets and exhaust questions
Hey all. Im getting close to swapping a 455 in place of an olds 350 and id rather find out now before i pull the motor
1- since the 455 has a taller deck, are the brackets any different in a small block car, also it was originally a late 307 car (90 Estate Wagon) im concerned about the A/C compressor and brackets not lining up.
2- i have a set of X Z manifolds for the 455 and a set of Thornton 350 Jrs on the car this moment. i have never compared sb vs bb manifolds side by side, i know they are different. my question is will the bb manifolds reach the collector pipes that are currently on the car or will i have to have them extended so they can reach the new manifolds?
3- the 455 came from a 69 toronado so it has the over sized oil pan with the hump for an axle, does anybody know if ill run into clearance issues on a B body?
Im not using the toro intake, ill be using a standard issue of a 1970 98, and i already changed the oil filter adapter to the RWD set up.
Any other advice on swap issues to look out for would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks guys

The power steering pump will bolt on, the alternator will need a spacer made to take up the difference in deck height between the lower alternator bracket and power steering bracket. The front A/C bracket will need extension tabs fabricated and welded in place it’s all pretty easy, and can be accomplished with one trip to the hardware store.
Im pretty sure the Toronado oil pan will fit with no problem. If your handy with a torch, it would be a good idea to flatten the bump in the pan. A little more oil capacity, and you won’t have that 1/2 quart of oil that can’t be drained.
