2015 olds homecoming alert!

I see by JWO that the location has changed! 7285 Parsons drive Dimondale, MI 48821 Looks like smaller location?

2.5 miles due west of the old location. I will e-mail Don Cooper to see why the change so late in the game.

The state wanted the property back for some construction thus the change.

I believe it is June 20th. Always on Fathers day weekend.
Mike,
The state should have checked with us first!!

The same as it always is. The day before Father's Day. June 20th.

The new place looks bigger. I drove over to it on Sunday. The main lot is more of a rectangle, which gives the illusion of being smaller, but I'm pretty sure if you count the parking spots it's bigger. The parking lot may be a little rougher shape than the Secondary Complex. Ignore the "Dead End" sign when you turn off of Bilwood onto Crowner on your way to Parsons, Crowner dead ends way north of Parsons.

I have no idea how exactly they will lay it out. I think I can see where they will have trailer parking, visitor parking, and the showfield, but I'm not sure about where the swap meet will be.

I think it will be a good location for it.

Yes, they were notified extremely late that the SSC would not be available for them to use this summer as they are building a new State Police building out there. Unfortunately the posters were already done with the old address on them. Anybody who accidentally goes to the old site, it is very easy to get to the new one. Just go west on Bilwood and take a right on Crowner. The show will be on your left.

I am so torn this year if I want to go to the Homecoming. We usually do Motor Muster in Greenfield Village which is the same weekend but a 2 day show.

Me too...I did the Motor Muster year before last and it was a blast. Nice setting and lots of different cars. I may go to the homecoming this year for the swap meet though.

I talked to Don Cooper today, he did not mention the new building! But none the less the state of Michigan had a signed contract and still backed out 30 days ago!

They have allowed homecoming to use the new site for 2015 but all bets are off for 2016 for both sites. According to Don they need 12-1600 spaces to handle all of homecoming.

I will talk to Don about contacting Jackson national to see if they are open to the idea. Huge parking lot just off I-96 and okemos rd. Plus this weekend I will swing over that way and take a look and do a count of the spaces.

There is a bridge over the RR tracks, so you will not have to drive your car over any RR tracks to get there.

Talk to Don again, Jackson national has turned us down in the past so it's not an option. Don's sentiment is nobody getting any younger and we need a long term commitment from any entity.

From the sounds of it with out a big lot and no commitment, this could be the last one?

Maybe someone could mention to a state/local official about the loss in revenue if this show ends. The local hotels always seem to have several Olds in the parking lot.

parking at the old location for those not showing their cars was very difficult....so maybe this new location will be a little better...
