2013 Nationals

I know that we go there for business or for the cars, but also you get a chance to meet new people!

As C.O. people are concerned had a chance to meet Oldspackrat(Scott)
Greg Rogers/Linda (as himself) and Paladin31(Brett) and broke bread with Brett/Bob (helper/slave labor) and Greg and his wife. This is the highlight of the show for me! Wonderful people!!!! Also Brett was very kind to supply a small part to me at no charge and I will return in kind the future.

Also congrats. to Greg who pulled a 2nd place with his 71 drop top Supreme.

I also judged (lead judge) had a chance to meet Jeff Walsh and Derek and George Myrtle, Good people with Jeff having pretty good knowledge on G bodies.

Sorry up front for the performance Olds people, but went with the off beat or everyday cars for the most part on the pics!

Pat

Glad you had a great time (sounds like) as I did! Yep, it's the people, then the cars! Renewed old/made new friendships. Just an amazing experience, and recommend that all of you make one of the OCA Nationals in your lifetime. I saw some good things as relates to the BS going on for way too long; the proof will be in the pudding, as the old saying goes. I am remaining cautiously optimistic that the OCA has turned the corner. The Silver Bullet won a 1st in class; two of our guys won Best of Class. Am SO SORRY the racing event was rained out after only one pass, for some. Will post some pictures when I get home and get them downloaded. Really a great representation of our great marque, as it should be. Had a friend from North Carolina ride a HD up (along with his friend, Jim) and brought us two quarts of home made apple pie whiskey (spiked with some Everclear - WOW!). Just a wonderful time. We are resting at a Super8 on the way to Greer's Ferry Lake in northern Arkansas for 2-3 days with wonderful friends we have met through the NTOC/OCA, then tooling back to Big D to head back to work - - regards to all CO'er's.

I really like this '33, it has been at Homecoming, and the Gilmore Car Museum in MI.

It really was a great time. The wife and I really enjoyed meeting all the great people and seeing all the great cars. Congratulations to you, Pat, on winning best in class with your Alero.

Did anyone see this? I was wondering how he was able to rectify it. It looked like such a nice car.

Yep, saw it, had quite a crowd around the car after it happened. They got it back in place with a flatbed tow truck, unfortunately I went back to my room for a camera, got to talking to somebody else but when I got back out there, the car was back in place and the flatbed was packing up.

He drew quite a crowd. The flatbed truck backed right up to the front of the car, hooked two chains from his flat bed to the bumper, picked the front end up and backed the car back on the trailer. Very smooth. The guy pulled the car and trailer with a small Volvo SUV from Texas. I'll bet that was an interesting ride.

I truly enjoyed this nationals. Glad to see so much strength in the club. Met several new faces, put faces and names together that I only met thru CO, and had a chance to get away from work for a week! Lookin forward to next year in Cincinnati.

I have been around a long time and never heard that. I always heard "the proof is in the pudding".
