2011 GM Carlisle

I've been pleasantly surprised by the amount of Olds stuff at Spring and Fall the last few years. Yes, the GMs show is small, but it also brings out more of the guys cleaning out their garages, so deals tend to be better. I scored a pair of manual trans 455 cranks for $50 a couple of summers ago.

I thought I heard the Camaro nation event was moved to MD on the same weekend.
BTW I won't be making it this year. One I have been getting it with bad migraines every day lately. But also neither car is ready and the wife has been asked to work saturday. So even a trip out to see old friends is out.

Price is correct...it does cover all 3 days for 2 people. I did the early regsitration for 30, plan to be there Saturday in the Alero.
I suggested on Carlisle surveys to offer a reduced one day pass, but no dice yet....

Saw Joe's wagon though did not get a chance to meet him. Did speak with Scott with his 62 though.
Had a great turnout of Oldmsobiles! I got there at 10:30 at we were out of spaces! We did borrow a few spaces across the aisle and did get everybody in. Hopefully with this turnout, Carlisle will give Olds a larger section next year.
a lot of really nice GM cars also. There was a Cosworth Vega reunion and must have been 40 of them! Pretty cool sight!
Overall a great day at Carlisle!

I did get to meet a few folks from this and other Olds forums, which is nice. Parked next to Darrell and his beautiful 71 Supreme. My friend Scott was awarded Best in Class for the Blue/Grey chapter's show-within-a-show. Of course, I pointed out that parking next to my wagon would make anyone's car look good.

.I met some new friends and some old friends.Old Skl stoped by and checked out my Omega.First time I saw him. It's nice to put a face with the handle. All the Olds' where really nice looked like there was about 40 or so apparently twice as many as expected. Maybe next year we'll get more space. I got a plack from Blue and Gray.Didn't get any thing from Carlisle but had a great time.Looking forward to next year.

This year's show had a pretty good turnout, especially in the Olds class. There was around 35-40 there on Saturday. Got a chance to finally meet Joe P in person. Nice to put a face with the forum.
My Cutlass did the round trip flawlessly. The car had been driven only about 3k miles in the last 30 years, but on this trip I drove it about 750 miles. After about the first 50, it ran like a different car. Could not believe the difference. I averaged 18-20 mpg on the highway at 70-75 miles per hour. Even got stuck in traffic around NYC for 2 1/2 hours and never overheated. Had a 28 Buick and a 77 Firebird next to me in that traffic. What are the odds of that? Anyway, sorry for the late pics. Enjoy.

Joe P's ride to the show. I think this car got more attention than any other one around. Everyone liked the natural "pantina"![Big Grin](https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Thanx for the pics. Looks like a better spot that usual. Sorry I missed it. But in the end even If I had planned on it the same thing that happened last year happened this year. Major migraines.

The burnout contest. This guy kept going until he blew a tire off the rim.

Thanks for the photos. The blue 62 convertible belongs to my friend Scott. We drove up together (picture these two cars running up the freeway). It's not an original Jetfire, but he's spent years piecing the motor and turbo hardware together. He build the motor himself. It's got a four speed also. After watching everything he's gone through to get that motor running right, I definitely do NOT want a Jetfire motor in mine.

By the way, that decal in the back window of my car says "If it runs, it's done".
