1995 Cutlass Supreme - Newest Oldsmobile
1995 Cutlass Supreme - Newest Oldsmobile
This is our newest Oldsmobile. It is actually my wife's car. She is actually recovering from surgery and was in her pj's when I brought it home. I had looked at a lot of these cars over the years and they were either too far away, overpriced or not up to what I was looking for. This one is the right color (original paint) and the car has 26,000 miles on it. She is the third owner and a very happy one. I haven't even detailed it yet. The interior and the trunk and engine are as nice as what you see. This car is clean enough that you could almost put it back on the showroom floor after it was detailed. It has the 3.4-liter engine. I know these engines had some issues with intake manifold gaskets and then there is the timing belt that has to be changed. I doubt she will ever put enough miles on it for that to matter. Now I have to get the right side of the garage cleaned out so we can get it in next to the Hurst. This is the fifth convertible we have owned. Four of them were Oldsmobiles with three of them being Cutlass Supremes (two were 72's) and the 54.
So they didn't all get recalled!😺
Be aware that an alternator job on these cars with 3.4l is about an 8 hour flat rate. Real PITA. There's one engine in the W-body that the front motor mount dogbone has to come out to change the serpentine belt too.
Even though the styling jarred me when these Cutlasses were introduced, after a few years it grew on me. Contemporary and futuristic at the same time.

Outstanding purchase, especially since you are already aware and will watch out for the "big three" expensive fixes on these cars. I'm looking at one of these as well, hopefully a 1995. My wife insists it better have cupholders..........and with the 95 you get a full bench seat in the back as opposed to those rear bucket seats.
Well Done!

The 95 does have cup holders. I am not sure previous years did. It also has controls on the steering wheel. I do like the rear bench seat better although I doubt anybody will ever ride back there.
