1973 olds models with 455 manual transmission
I thought it would be interesting to know what models were built in 73 from the Lansing plant with a 455 4bbl and manual transmission. My F serif engine came out of a 73 model car based on the vin id from Lansing and what I believe is the original carburator was from a manual transmission. The motor had a fly wheel since it was in a jet boat when I got it. The heads and pistons are not consistent with a 73 model. all indications are it came out of a manual transmission car. It is my understanding there weren't a lot of manual transmission cars in 73. Does anyone have production numbers of manual transmission cars from Lansing in 73?

The only models available with the 455 and four speed in the 1973 model year were the A-body cars. I have a complete 455 with a 1973 VIN derivative that has a san-serif F block (that blew me away), a manual trans crank, and KA heads. The heads appear to have never been off the block (still has the steel shim head gaskets) but I obviously do not know that for sure.

interesting about the block casting and heads-no smog heads on a 73. I have E heads. Wonder if they could have been original to the block. They could have come off the Packajet 455 boat motor that was originally in the 1978 boat I got the motor out of. Whoever put the 73 in the boat used most of the boat motor peripherals except for the intake which has a 73 number.
