1972 Olds Delta 88

Thinking of selling my delta 88. 350 Runs great, done a lot of work on it, much of it directed by this forum. Frame is good but needs body work. I have patch rear quarters with Biondo every spring, looks okay fromn10 paces. Needs body work but don’t have a garage big enough for it. Hate to let it go and would like it to have an owner that would restore it. Not sure what it’s worth?
thoughts?
thanks
Kent

Beautiful car. Unfortunately, as a four-door B-body HT that needs bodywork, it is not in very high demand.

If you post some more pictures, you might be able to get a more accurate estimate.

Here are a few more pictures. Rear quarters down low and around rear wheel are bad.Doors and front fenders are okay. When I purchased in about 2017 it had been hit in rear drivers side. I purchased the correct rear light and bezel and we pounded and straightened so light could be installed. All works and has passed inspection. Always figured at some point the quarters would need to be replaced, Adds character…. That’s how we saw it anyway. Engine was replaced with 1969 olds 350, runs well, Holley carb and original tranny. Field tank is good, rear bearings and brakes have been done recently, new alternator. I have AC but it’s not installed. Everything works. Good inexpensive car for someone that wants one to work on and drive. It has been driven regularly so it’s a driver. Thoughts on what it’s worth? I’m not looking for much.

Kent, I feel that JDPower gives a fair value assessment.

4200 original msrp

3000-15,000 from driver quality to show car. So now it's up to you to see where you think her value falls into place. Then keep in mind as BangScreech mentions, the vast majority of people that are interested in this era of cars want coupes.

You can use the Hagerty website to get a ballpark valuation.

Here's what the Old Cars Price Guide has to say. This is from the November 2025 issue.

The numbers across the bottom are condition leves with 6 = parts car, 5 = doesn't run but too good to part out, 4 = runs and drives but needs restoration, 3 = "car show quality," 2 = showroom condition, 1 = better than showrooom/trailer queen.

Your car is about a number 4. If you received an offer of anything close to $5000, take it and run.

Why did you change the engine?
