It's entirely possible that it has the original drivetrain and is a real Y-79 SX, but there is so much wrong with that car that my eyes hurt. Non-1970 color, incorrect seat covers, 1971-72 hood bubba-ed on there, mirrors, later 15" rims, missing side trim, yuck.

looks like the intake is also incorrect, l/s fender looks to be from 1971 or 1972, almost looks like a 350 engine? left vc looks like plenty of clearance at master cylinder heat riser on the left side??

Why is there an EGR valve with nothing connected? The grilles don't look like they fit right at the hood line.. Car looks OK and would be a fun driver for the right price. But who am I to say. I am not in the market for a 70 cutlass.
However I did find a 1969 Boss 429 Mustang and all those kind of details that tell me if it is the real deal will definitely be very carefully scrutinized.

Hi, can you explain to me how you can tell the l/s fender is wrong? The difference between a '70 and a '71/'72?

The LH fender has the "ripples" in the flange just under the edge of the hood. This was added for the 1971-72 model years to increase the energy absorption in a head-on collision by allowing the fender to "accordion". Note that the RH fender is smooth in that area.

Frankly, I'm more worried about the rubber bungee strap hooked to the inner fender just behind the battery. Also note that the entire engine, including the sending units and wiring, is painted, as are the relays on the inside of the fenders. What a crappy job. I guess I'll see it at Fall Carlisle.

 

It does have the 4 core radiator top plate, but that could have been added. No washer jar at all to give us a clue. Exhaust heat stove on the wrong side, later year engine? No 455 fender braces visible either.
