1970 Olds 442 COPO on Ebay

Here we go again .

Also, notice the reverse-image photo. It could very well be a nice car but not a very good ad.

Your right. One bad picture. A single fuzzy picture for a $40,000 car? Be interesting to see the bidding process over the coming days.

Perhaps. But. You can't accurately judge the condition of the car with one unclear picture. What's the interior and undercarriage look like? How's the rear bumper or the other side for that matter.

People have no problem expressing their ignorance. Sure, everyone wants to think their car is special. And driven by greed to make more money on a sale, too many sellers like make up stupid stories about how the car is special. But their ignorance rats them out. Oldsmobile did not have COPO program. And special order cars like claimed were almost exclusively Lansing built. Besides not mentioning anything that was out of the ordinary about the car.

May be hard to identify if it gets relisted with an effort to sell, including more pics and detailed information. Last year I looked in town at 2 other cars and got the runaround. "I can meet you tomorrow over here around this time then we drive 25 miles if my dad is home you can see it. I'm working late how about 6:00 if I still feel like it?" Low effort, no sale. (Both are still available btw) (at lower prices, ha).

I'd like to see the "bill" sheet and the alloy steering wheel.

It's a good thing that E-Bay offers $50,000 in buyer protection. I think this buyer may need it!
The picture looks to be 20 to 30 years old. Nobody uses film anymore.
I wonder what it looks like today?

So, maybe a couple of special options where checked.

Copper belt radials
Four wheel drive / front wheel drive, is there really a difference?
Factory Leather? Sounds more comfortable then my vinyl.

If it's on the internet, it has to be true.

You also missed the fact that it was built at the "Freemont" plant, apparently not located in Fremont, CA.
