1970 cutlass 442 dash trim
Rick
Years ago, I had two 1970 442's, both with buckets/console and 4 spd., and both of them had the dash trim; as I recall, it looked kinda chintsy, being glued into a groove, though!
I, too, am not sure whether it was optional, or came in another trim package?

The plastic chrome trim was standard equipment on the 442 and the Cutlass Supreme. I believe it was an option on the Cutlass. In 1970 it was glued on, but it tended to come off, so in 71 they were installed with plastic push pins. They are reproed and come with the pins.
Does your 442 have the woodgrain along the lower dash where the radio and glove box are? It should have, like a Cutlass Supreme. You must remember mistakes were made on the assembly line, as they had to keep the lines going. My 442 came through without the chrome backing plates behind the front door armrests. That was a feature of the 442 over a Cutlass "S", borrowed from the Cutlass Supreme.
