1970 442 W-30 post coupe for $6000 anyone?
So my buddy, a fellow car guy and former W-31 owner, tells me about this show Bid and Destroy on natgeo channel. On this episode these guys find an original 1970 W-30 in tha garage of a house they are going to demolish.
Wanting to sell it right away, they call an "expert" to give them an offer. This guy obviously knows what the car is and knows how much it's worth, tells them if it was a cutlass it would be worth $1000. But since its a 442 and a W-30 it's worth around 8-12k. REALLY??? He then tells them in its present condition he would give them $4000 for the car. After some negotiation they settle on $6000.
F@&$ me! I'll buy 3 of these for $6000! These guys got hosed! In this condition, and original W-30, it's an easy $20k car.

When this first aired I read that the car was staged into the show. I think the owner of the car let them use it and was never really sold. I can not find it now but i think there was something here on CO about it.

These "reality" shows are really getting bad. A lot of them are fake and staged, you never know what's true.

A member of this site mentioned it was totally staged and he knows the guy who actually owns the car.
