1970 442 convertible new wheels/tires help needed

Hi. I am reaching a final stage of restoration and am considering the following suggested wheels/tires from Coker Tire:

SSII 15 x 7 215/70 with BFGoodrich Radial T/A
SSII 15 x 8 235/70 " "

Thoughts?

The wheels will be the stock Argent Grey

I welcome your suggestions for looks and best driveability! Pics would be great. Anyone with a fab looking set up they want to share?

Thanks!

Jeff

Hi Jeff
Here's a couple pictures, the first is my daily driver with 15X7 wheels and 235/60/15 tires. The second is a project car with 15X7 wheels and a 255/60/15 tire on it. Sorry, I don't have a good side view of the second car, but I tried to capture the sidewall and the rim. I think the widths you suggested may be too narrow for the rims, at least for my taste. I like some sidewall sticking out beyond the rim. John

Helpful

Thanks for your thoughts! Not sure from the pics, but do you sell parts too?
I need valve covers notched for 455 and seat belts.

I dont have SSII, I have SS1 with BF Goodrich TA Radials 255 /60/15 on the front and 275 /60 /15 on the back, Not getting any rubbing and they appear to fill the wheel wells nicely.

Hi Jeff
We've talked before and I don't have extra notched valve covers. I'm still looking for the seatbelts but don't think I have a good set in black. John

Olds never put a 70 series 15" tire on a '68-'72 Cutlass/442 (a-body) ..... GM did use 60 series 15" tires, for example:
In 1969 Olds used 15x7.0" wheels with F60-15s (235/60/15) on the Hurst/Olds.
In 1970 Buick used 15x7.0" wheels with G60-15s (245/60/15) on the GSX.

..... either would be a safe bet, but more tire will fit, depending on the "look" you are after.
