That car is only $25K away from being a $20K car. He has had it for sale for 2 years.

There has been a very rough Rallye 350 for sale in MB for 2 years. He has it on Kijiji in AB. It is not a parts car but you will spend way more money than it is worth when finished. It is not worth his asking price.

I do not see it on Kijiji today. It was there before Xmas. The car has been discussed on here before. It is not a money maker.

So if I was to buy the car for parts, what is the dollar figure I should offer?

Do you really have the time to start turning into a salvage guy? Think of the hassles of storage and shipping, plus collecting the $$$. I'm sure I've seen this car on Kijiji too, and so has Ted (Sammy). I believe he looked at it and walked away even though he would have loved to have a Rallye 350. If he'd walk away from it? I wouldn't even drive down to look at it. Chances are the guy who's selling it knows the value of OEM parts too.

Sifton Rallye 350

http://alberta.kijiji.ca/c-ViewAdLar...ord=oldsmobile

Is this the car you are talking about?. The one in the yard @ Sifton?

That is the car I have been referring to. If you have a line on another one then maybe it is worth chasing. I have seen very nice Rallye 350s for high teens lately & low to mid $20s will buy an exceptional one.

Depends on your plans. Rallyes are cool and collectible. Olds drivetrains are relatively plentiful, inexpensive, and quite reliable. I would think that car is worth $4000-5000 as it sits, and could be a fun driver for not a lot more.

Restored or nice original Rallyes are around $25000 nowadays - so you could easily be upside down on a full restoration. To me - that doesn't mean this car is automatically garbage as a result.

It's hard to find a project Rallye.

Hi Retro, The car on craigs list looks nice. If that's the $6500 its looks worth it.
Sounds like the guy is trying to be honest. "Non matching number Rocket 350 V8"

I just threw that up there as reference point...its been at at 16k or higher (although i dont recall it being more than 16k despite the "lowered price" claim.
