1969 Cutlass S Hood Clearances

Hello,

Doing another rebuild on my 455 and the question has come up about hood clearance with the new edelbrock intakes. Everything is in pieces and hard to figure out although the Edelbrock 04b I used previously worked well with a quadrajet. Can anyone tell me if they've run the intake and carb combinations below with no required hood mods. If needed what mods were required. Thanks so much.

On my 69 Cutlass S I'm running a Torquer manifold and have no clearance issues. I don't know the height of your manifold.

Torquer carb pad height =5.05''

Performer carb pad height = 4.95'' So it should work

Air Gap carb pad height = 5.54 May have to use drop base air cleaner

Hope that helps

Chris
