1969 Clock Question

1969 Clock Question
I've got a question about the clocks. I sold a clock out of a 1969 Cutlass to a guy for his 442 project. He wanted to update it with the quartz movement but when he contacted OPGI they asked what the make of the clock was. They told him the kit only worked with Borg Warner clocks. Now, I'm not an expert with the 1969 model but I can only picture two clocks, the one built into the tac and the standard one. I sold him a standard one. Do any of you 1969 guys know if there were more than one manufacturer for clocks? Have any of you made this upgrade to a standard clock and could you recommend a vendor for these parts?

I found the site tachman.com and talked to him about updating a tic toc tach to HEI. Updating the tach clock to a quartz movement is $85 in addition to the cost of converting the tach to HEI. I assume it would be about the same for just the clock without the tach. In reviewing his site and speaking with him, he has a lot of experience with gauges of all makes and models.

I am not a 69 Olds person, but I am interested in having my clock upgraded with a quartz movement and I found (so far) that there are three vendors candidates. The first of the three vendors (below) that I contacted (and only one contacted so far) gave me the choice of either fixing the existing movement or replacing it with the quartz. I have decided to go with the quartz movement because the existing simply does not last. (I can remember in my parents generation and their comments about car clock reliability being a big joke).
I have still not decided which vendor to choose for my clock conversion, and have no experience with how reputable they may be:
West Valley Instruments (Morris) at (818) 758-9500
D&M Restoration (Mike) at 800 722-0854
Instrument Services at (800) 558-2674
Hope this helps,
Dan W.
