I have a new set of splash shields. The originals are still intact but the parts not as
stapled on are long gone. im planning on using the original as a template when I make new holes in the replacements. Then lacing a paper clip through where ill clip and bend it after it's through??

My question is:
*were the original staples painted flat black?

I have the inner fenders out and was thinking of painting the inners before I attach the shields.

Any advice?

The original stables were au natural unpainted.
