1969 442 conv how rare?

Hey guys , I was wondering your opinions of how rare is the color combo on my 1969 442 conv. it is triple black.
I know there is no rock solid proof but was just wondering.
Also what would you rate the color combo on a scale of 1 to 10 10 being the best?
Thanks for your input in advance. Forddom

I would say it is rare haven’t see to many triple black 69’s.You see more 70’s in black.I would give it a 10 but it has to be straight

I don't think I have ever seen a triple black 69 442 conv in person. Not even sure if I have seen a black exterior one. Mine is platinum exterior with black interior and top and have seen several in the combo in person, and online. So yours has to be pretty rare.

That said a quick search revealed at least two that have been through the Barrett Jackson auction, assuming they came that way. And these are both 4 speeds with air !

Either way if rare or not, cool combo, I would put it at the high end of the scale and enjoy it !

It would be a rare combo. I know in 1970 there were only maybe 14 black GS 455 'verts made at all the plants. I know this because I own one, it's one of FOUR made at the Fremont plant. That's black...mine's documented triple black. How many of the 14 were TRIPLE black? Who knows? The problem with an Olds would be proving it. Triple black cars are triple hot in the summer. Fortunately, mine has AC! For a 69 442 vert, I'd rate triple black as very desireable, right up there with Red. Then platinum, dark green, dark blue...everybody likes different colors and some cars just look better in certain colors. Like a 70 442 W30 vert in say Twilight blue with a white top and interior. It's not that other colors aren't nice...it's just a certain look about certain color combos on certain cars.

I totally agree with you Mrolds69 some cars just look awesome in certain combos.
I built a 69 442 post it was Trophy blue with a parchment top and int. I couldn't stop looking at it!
