1969 4-4-2 wiw
A gentleman in another site posted this:
When pressed for more info, he mentioned this:
With what you know from above, and what you know about the market for 1969 4-4-2s, what kind of value would you venture to guess for this car?
1969 442 Coupe. Original motor, trans, rear. 4 speed. Currently red but haven't validated the cowl tag on trim/color. Has a blown up crate motor in it now which I'm told is scrap. Original motor needs to be rebuilt, and engine compartment must be freshened. Very nice body and interior.
Its a hardtop. 400ci/350hp. Original color is gold/black. Original motor/trans/rear and all major mechanical aspects (alt, heads, intake, carb, etc). Now red/black. I do not have photos.

Assuming it's not a trick question, I put restored 442s at 20 to 25k. This being a stick, but a 69, which is, in my opinion, not the best year, would put it at 30, fully restored. With a nice body and interior, but needing a paint job and a motor rebuild, I'd say 8k to 10k, depending on further inspection (mainly how nice the interior and body is.)
Does it have red fenderwells or something odd?

The problem is, to get to a $25-30k car costs that much in restoration
Bodywork and paint are very expensive
Grab a catalog and start a spreadsheet to add up all the costs
rubber, interior, brakes, bearings, u-joints, fasteners, radiator, hoses, etc.
Add $5k at least for an engine/trans ready to go
More for rear end work perhaps.
