1968 LongTop tailgate motor
Need a 3 wire tailgate motor for the Silver Bullet. One in there works, albiet s-l-o-w-l-y, occassionally needs a little "help". Or, does anyone know where the motor can be sent to be rebuilt. Would prefer local, of course, for quick turnaround. Appreciate any thoughts or ideas.![Big Grin](https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Will research the 3996651. Chris Dreiling (in our Club, the genuine GURU) said that his manual shows P/N as 4915943. Anyohne help there? It is a 3 wire motor, instead of 2, unique to the '68 wagon only, I think.![Big Grin](https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

It's probably the linkage, guides, and/or rollers if moving slow.
If you drop the gate, and remove the cover, you'll see the regulator, retracted.
I used a jackstand with a rag folded thick, found the safety switch, and put the window partially up, with the jackstand supporting the glass.
This way, you can inspect everything, and get at the motor.
Usually, the guides are worn out, causing the glass to **** to one side, slowing things down, or a roller right beneath the glass has gone flat or broke.
If nothings bad, lube everything with white grease, and see how fast it's moving now.
Having done about 10 of 'em, never ran into a bad motor.
